Hosting & website care
For professional organizations

Service scope / III

A transition, not just a transfer.

Changing hosting affects more than the files. We consider the website, the records that point to it and the working arrangements around it.

The sequence
  1. Discovery

Identify the current host, software, content, email and DNS. Record deadlines, access requirements and any dependencies that need separate approval.

  2. Preparation

Take recovery copies and transfer the agreed website data. Check the destination before it becomes the public version.

  3. Cutover

Agree the timing and ownership of DNS changes. Verify the website, certificates and agreed critical functions after switching.

  4. Completion

Confirm what is complete, what remains with another provider and how long recovery material should be retained.

Review a proposed transition

Keep the existing service until the transition is accepted.

Do not cancel hosting or mail arrangements on the assumption that every dependency has moved. Registrar access, mail history and third-party services can require separate work.
